Her Heart is proud to announce its inaugural Women’s Cardiovascular Disease
Conference, taking place on Friday, 25th October 2024, at the Pullman Sydney. This groundbreaking one-day event, will bring together national and international experts to tackle critical challenges in women’s cardiovascular health, aiming to raise awareness and drive change in this crucial area.
The Her Heart Conference 2024 will bring together medical professionals, thought leaders, and community members to discuss the latest advancements in cardiovascular disease treatment, research, and the disparities women face in access to care. The all-day program will showcase cutting-edge research, including findings from the Women’s Australian Longitudinal Study and the National Cardiac Registry. Key themes include challenges in treatment for Atrial Fibrillation, Heart Failure and other conditions specific to women. It will also address the impact of health inequities faced by women, particularly First Nations women. There will also be a focus on innovative solutions such as Women’s Heart Clinics as a specialised service.

- Professor Noel Bairey-Merz, Director of the Barbra Streisand Women’s Heart
Centre at Cedars-Sinai, a global leader in women’s heart health and a founding member of Her Heart. - The Hon. Ged Kearney MP, Assistant Minister for Health & Aged Care, Assistant Minister for Indigenous Health with a career dedicated to healthcare and social justice.
- Aunty (Dr) Vicki Wade, a national leader in Aboriginal women’s health, who will speak on the strength, determination, and resilience of Aboriginal women, drawing from her work with the “Koort for the Koort”
- MC Sophie Scott OAM to chair a Panel “Navigating Cardiovascular Challenges During a Woman’s Life course.”
Her Heart’s Founder and CEO, Prof. Linda Worrall-Carter, will also share her vision of how Her Heart is driving transformative change in women’s heart health across Australia. “This conference marks a pivotal moment in the fight against heart disease for women.
