THE NUMBER one killer of women in Australia is heart disease, a leading health professional has warned. \u201cOne woman dies every hour in Australia from heart disease,\u201d Dr Worrall-Carter said.<\/p>\n \u201cI want women to know it\u2019s their biggest killer.<\/p>\n \u201cThe good news is 80 per cent of heart disease is preventable.\u201d<\/p>\n Alarmingly, the biggest growth area in heart disease is among 25-40 year olds, the Warrandyte resident said.<\/p>\n RELATED:Melbourne University research links negative Twitter outbursts to heart disease<\/p>\n \u201cThis is not an old woman\u2019s disease,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n She recalled hearing about a patient who had been treated for heart disease – a 35-year-old woman with two young children.<\/p>\n
